Not much to report. Water everywhere.

I thought it would be a calm day where I could sit and relax with a glass of wine, looking at the waves and think about... thats right: nothing.

Ochlofobia

We went to a show in the great amphitheater. The shows generally have a high standard both from regarding both performance technical effects, so it was well visited (the fact people had less to do today also plaid its part). When the show ended everyone headed off for lunch. Suddenly I was surrounded by small hungry and aggressive Italians and there was no escape! I could not get out! It was for exactly this reason Mihiri had plans of bringing a paper bag to put over my head to prevent me from going bananas.

Tech Toilets

We discovered another fairly strange thing - the toilets. What is so strange about them is that they are not very well advertised so you have to run around a bit to find one (which can cause some stress in some cases), and they have electronic locks. The electronic locks work like this: you wave your hand over a white plate and the door opens (very Star-trek). Then you go in and the door closes BUT DOES NOT LOCK (very Idio-tick). It only locks when you get in front of the throne, where a small LED on a motion detector turns red. All this is very hi-tech but, even as an electronic/computer geek, I'd prefer a solid old style honest lock so I would know I'd be left alone. As it was, you can't be that certain.

Gala night

Tonight it was Gala night. This means everyone dress up nicely for dinner and, for once, you get to use your costume or dress (I chose to wear the costume since Mihiri wouldn't let me borrow a dress). I had the whole kit: tailored costume, cuff links, nice shoes, Hermes tie... and a really cheap scratched watch. I'd have loved to wear a pink Mickey mouse watch but I don't own one. PM to myself: Must remember to bring one next time.

After the (still boring but at least you can feel smug when you see people showing up in T-shirt) dinner you can get a picture with the captain. In these pictures you can see us standing in front of the ship at day, at night and with another background. The explanation to the different environments is simple: they used a greenscreen. So its fake. People were standing in line, then ushered to the front of the screen, picture taken and then ushered on. Very industrial. At least the captain was for real (I think - it might have been an actor or a robot).
