In our quest to see some Game of Thrones recording sites we went to the Klis fort today.

First we visited Trogir, a small town that is like a little island by itself. It has a small fort (which we couldn't visit because it was closed, possibly a nation-wide warning about Isak has gone out because most places we visit is closed when we get there) and a harbour. And a lot of charming buildings. The harbour side is lined up with these old style buildings, the whole impression somewhat spoiled (or perhaps enhanced) by one concrete block building which looks like a hangover taken solid form. The architect was probably inspired from one of the Swedish no-go zones.

After Isak had tasted some small stones and found them acceptably stony we headed off to the Klis fort, where some scenes in Game of Thrones had been filmed. There's a small parking space where the stairs up the mountain side begins, and it was mainly unoccupied. When I got up there the reason became clear: they hadn't opened yet. So we went ahead a bit to find a restaurant and stopped by the road at a place called Restauran Hajduk. They served lamb roasted on a spit. That's it. You could get potatoes and bread as well. No sauce. You ordered by the kilo, so we ordered half a kilo (including bones and some cotton as it turned out). I didn't dare to say anything about the cotton in case I'd end up on a spit.

Back at the fort they had opened when we came back. Half way up I saw two cars which were so dented they looked fresh from an accident (possibly with each other). Anyway we climbed around the stairs and found some places where the Khaleesi had walked before us, as the fort was used as a part of the city of Mereen. Since I was carrying Isak I got pretty tired and fed up after a while and wished they would have chosen a fort with an elevator instead. But it would have looked silly in the movie I guess.

We continued to Split where we walked around a bit. We visited the place where the Dragons were kept in the movie. Or we should have, except the actual entry to that part of the "cellars" were trough a gate that were closed today. So we took some photos around, then ended up at a cafe where we ordered a cheesecake. Isak was nicely sleeping when we arrived but woke up angry as hell so we had to take off.
